During your first counselling session, you can expect the counselor to create a safe and non-judgmental space for you to share your concerns and reasons for seeking therapy. They may ask questions to gather relevant information about your background, current challenges, and goals, and discuss the counselling process and what you hope to achieve through therapy.
A psychotherapist is a trained mental health professional who provides therapeutic interventions to help individuals address emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues. They utilize various counselling techniques and approaches to support clients in gaining insight, resolving conflicts, and improving their overall mental well-being.
We maintain confidentiality by adhering to strict ethical and legal guidelines, ensuring that all information shared by the client remains private and protected. We use the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) to maintain privacy by implementing rigorous protocols to safeguard and control access to individuals' personal health information, ensuring its confidentiality and protection in accordance with the law.
The length of a counselling session is typically 50 minutes, but it can vary depending on the therapist and the client's needs. The number of sessions required varies greatly depending on the individual and the nature of the issues being addressed, ranging from just a few sessions for specific concerns to several months or longer for more complex or ongoing challenges.
Our cancelation policy requires clients to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice for appointment changes or cancellations; otherwise, a 50% charge will be applied to the scheduled session fee, unless there are extenuating circumstances beyond the client's control.
Please understand that this policy helps us maintain appointment availability and ensures fair compensation for our counselors' time and commitment to serving our clients' needs.
In person and online, depending on the counsellor.

Each insurance plan may have different policies and requirements, so it's best to verify the coverage details in advance to avoid any unexpected costs.
